First Pool Day of the Year

Sunday we got to play at the pool for the first time this year! So much fun!

The twins had fub exploring their water footprints on the concrete.

Everybody loved it, but Grace couldn't get enough! I have a feeling we are going to be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer.

Outdoor Fun

I pulled the baby pool out for the first time this year hoping Clare would really enjoy it. Nope. She would not get in by herself. Once I got in with her (in my clothes) she splashed and played a little bit from my lap, but she wouldn't venture out of it. Admittedly, the water was quite cold. I'm hoping she'll warm up to it over the next few months (pun intended). I'm looking forward to hitting the real pools this summer! We are so blessed to live in an area where we have use of fantastic pools all around us. So fun!

Look how red her little hair is getting!

Water was too cold for Jake!

The cold water did not stop this one!

A Special Gift

George took all the kids to breakfast this morning so that I could have some me time. I *almost* didn't know what to do with myself. It was nice and relaxing. I was soaking in the tub when everyone came in. Two little heads poked around the corner literally dragging the prettiest flowers (that they each picked out just for me) across the bathroom floor. The flowers survived their adventures with G&J and look even better now, a few hours after these photos were taken, thanks to some trimming and fresh water. I played around a little taking some closeups. Not sure that I ever mentioned it, but George surprised me with the sweetest random gift a few weeks ago, a Canon DSLR camera. It is great and something I have wanted for a very long time. Thanks dear!

Reminiscing

Two of my favorite moments as a mom! There is nothing like meeting your baby/babies for the first time!

Around the House

Lately I've tackled a few home improvement projects. I needed to replace the horrendous vinyl flooring in our half bath. It's the main bathroom we use during the day and the one any visitors use most. The floor replacement turned into an entire room remodel, but I'm really happy with the results and glad I did it. I recently bought bunk beds and a hope chest off of craigslist. They are in the process of being refinished, but I'll post picks when they are done.

This is a picture I made of Miss Clare. I just used photoshop to create the black profile from a regular photograph and covered the mat with scrapbook paper. I love how it turned out. It makes me smile every time I walk into the kitchen (not its permanent location, just where it is until I decide where it will go).

Our new vanity, faucet, towel holder, and toilet handle (I can plumb!)

Another view with arrangement in candle holder from Target. I needed something the kids couldn't knock over.

New magazine rack, canvases covered with scrapbook paper, and I love my sign!

You can actually see the floor in this one. It's Armstrong vinyl plank flooring. I love it! It is so much better than our laminate, and I love that I don't have to worry about water on it.

It was a lot of work (tearing out old floor and vanity, installing new floor, painting and installing wainscotting and crown molding, installing new vanity requiring new plumbing under the sink, touching up wall paint, installing new bath hardware) but very worth it! It is like a little sanctuary in the midst of the chaos that is my life.

We had G&J's very first t-ball game this morning. They did a great job and had lots of fun! I haven't laughed so much in a long time! It was adorable! Not to mention they have a pretty cute assistant coach.

My Life Summed Up

If I had to sum up my life in recent pictures, these are some I would pick, especially the second to last one!

Wedding Fun

Grace and Jake had fun being in George's cousin Tina's wedding. They did a pretty good job if I do say so myself :) They certainly were the cutest members of the wedding party! I didn't take many pics, left that to the pro! I can't wait to see the professional pics. Hopefully there will be some good ones!
